Velveteen Rabbit Wedding in Las Vegas | Jodie & Cameron’s Colorful Arts District Celebration

When Jodie and Cameron first reached out, it was nearly a year before their Velveteen Rabbit wedding. As a Las Vegas wedding photographer and videographer duo, we always encourage couples to book as early as possible, especially if you’re planning a September or October wedding in Las Vegas. Those dates disappear fast, and having plenty of time allows you to enjoy the planning process instead of rushing through it.

A few months before the wedding, we met up for their engagement session and took some photos for their save-the-dates. By the time their wedding day arrived, it felt like we were spending the day with friends.

Their wedding was colorful, joyful, and packed with personality. From getting ready at Park MGM to their ceremony at Sure Thing Chapel and their reception at Velveteen Rabbit, every part of the day reflected who they are as a couple.

Getting Ready at Park MGM

We started the day at Park MGM, where both sides of the wedding party were getting ready. I always love this part of the day because it gives us a chance to document all the little details before everything starts moving quickly.

Once hair and makeup wrapped up, we captured photos of the bridesmaids in their matching pajamas before everyone got dressed. Across the hotel, Cameron and his crew were putting on boutonnieres, sharing a few laughs, and getting ready for the day too.

One of the sweetest moments happened when Jodie’s mother helped her into her dress. Jodie surprised her by wearing a necklace that had belonged to her grandmother, which made for a special moment between the two of them. Not long after, Jodie shared a first look with her father before heading off to meet Cameron for their first look as bride and groom.

A Sure Thing Chapel Wedding with Family and Friends

The ceremony took place at Sure Thing Chapel surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Because they had more than twenty guests attending, they reserved the chapel for a full hour. This is something we always recommend for larger groups because it gives everyone room to settle in and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

Their ceremony was heartfelt and personal. They exchanged vows in front of everyone they love, sharing pieces of their story and what brought them to this moment together.

Afterward, we moved into family photos, wedding party portraits, and newlywed photos around the chapel. The celebration ended with a grand exit as their guests gathered outside cheering them on.

Wedding Photos at 11th Street Records

Before heading to the reception, we spent some time exploring downtown together. Since music plays such a big role in Jodie and Cameron’s relationship, a stop at 11th Street Records was an easy decision. We wandered through the shop and took a few photos among the records.

A Velveteen Rabbit Wedding Reception in the Arts District

After portraits wrapped up, we made our way to Velveteen Rabbit where all of their guests were waiting.

If you’re looking for a unique Las Vegas wedding reception venue, Velveteen Rabbit is one of our favorite hidden gems in the Arts District.

Before Jodie and Cameron made their entrance, guests were handed drinks so everyone could raise a glass as the newlyweds arrived. The energy inside was already high before the reception had even officially begun. The evening started with a short first dance followed by a thank-you speech from the couple. From there, family and friends shared stories, memories, and plenty of laughs.

Why We Love a Velveteen Rabbit Wedding

One of the things that makes a Velveteen Rabbit wedding so special is that when you book the space, you get access to both the indoor and outdoor areas.

Inside, the atmosphere is dark, moody, and intimate. It feels cozy without feeling cramped, making it perfect for speeches, cocktails, and dancing.

Step outside and the vibe completely changes. The outdoor courtyard is colorful, playful, and full of character. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, almost like stepping into a whimsical storybook.

Having both environments available throughout the evening gives guests plenty of room to spread out while still keeping everyone connected to the celebration.

Who Would Love a Velveteen Rabbit Las Vegas Wedding?

Velveteen Rabbit is a great fit for couples who want something that feels different from a traditional ballroom reception. If you love the Arts District, appreciate creative spaces, and want your wedding to feel relaxed rather than overly formal, this venue checks a lot of boxes.

It’s especially perfect for couples planning a guest list that feels intimate but still lively. The layout naturally encourages guests to mingle, grab a drink, move between spaces, and stay engaged throughout the evening.

Tips for Planning a Larger Las Vegas Wedding

Jodie and Cameron’s wedding is a great example of how to keep a larger guest count feeling easy and enjoyable. Choosing venues close together made a huge difference. Sure Thing Chapel, 11th Street Records, and Velveteen Rabbit are all located near one another, which helped the day flow naturally without spending too much time traveling across the city.

Building portrait time into the schedule before arriving at the reception also gave the couple a chance to enjoy a few quiet moments together before jumping back into the celebration.

And finally, don’t underestimate the value of great food and a great dance floor! The rest of the evening was filled with pizza, dancing, and guests enjoying every corner of the venue. It was simple, fun, and exactly what a wedding reception should be.
